泉州少林寺,亦称南少林寺。原名“镇国东禅少林寺”。据《西山杂志》载,为唐代嵩山少林寺“十三棍僧”之一的智空入闽所建。
南北少林同源一宗,北以嵩山少林为正宗,南以泉州少林为代表。泉州南少林有五祖拳、五节花拳、五枚花拳等拳种。构成了独特而博大精深的拳术系统,是泉州南少林历史文化的重要内涵,也是中华民族传统武术中的宝贵遗产。南北少林,相互辉映、齐誉于天下。 |
泉州少林寺座落在清源山之东岳山麓。历代高僧名师辈出,声名远播海内外。一千多年来,古寺历尽沧桑,从唐代到清代,历经三兴三废,清乾隆二十八年(1763年)乾隆帝下令火烧少林寺,泉州少林寺第三次被毁,“从兹无复敢修者”。泉州少林寺在消失近230个春秋之后,于1992年经省政府批准,泉州市成立了重建委员会,10月13日在东岳山少林寺遗址举行了奠基复建典礼,1997年首期工程竣工,大雄宝殿、五观堂及僧舍等建筑拔地而起,逐即开始向海内外公开招收南少林拳术学员。1989年礼上元下果大和尚为师,1997年,曾就读于厦门闽南学院之常定法师应邀出任监院。常定法师自幼习武,1995年参加福建省演武大会,获一等奖,同年参加嵩山少林寺建寺一千五百周年武术比赛,因成绩突出,荣获大会颁发的印证书,98年出任泉州少林寺武僧团团长、2000年2月法国巴黎福建同乡会邀请,组团出访欧洲诸国两个余月,进行武术文化交流活动,教授南少林五祖拳、荣获巴黎市政厅颁发的巴黎青年和体育金质奖章。2001年任泉州市政协委员。
新世纪到来之际,泉州少林寺在市政府和社会各界的重视和大力支持下,复建工程将逐步展开。据北宋文献记载,重建规模包括山门、大雄宝殿、法堂、达摩祖师堂、十三堂、罗汉堂、玄女堂、藏经阁、天王殿、观音殿、地藏殿及其它配套设施,占地面积达四百亩,建成后将成为中国最大的禅宗寺院之一。泉州少林寺的复兴重建需海内外各界热心人士、广大信众的共同帮助及努力。 |

Quanzhou Shaolin Temple,also called the Souhern Shaolin Tempel. Was originally named Zhenguo East Chan Shaolin Temple.According to West Moumtain Mountain Magazine.it was first set up in Tang Dynasty by zhikong.one of the thirteen cudgel Buddhist Monks in songshan shaolin Temple. Which is also calld Northern Shaolin Temple. |

The Southern and the Norhern Shaolin Temples are of the same sect. In the north.songshan shaolin Temple is the authentic; while Quanzhou Shaolin Temple is its representative in the south. They are shining upon each other and both enjoy great fame .In the Southren Shaolin Monastery, there are many kinds of Chinese boxing, such as Wuzquan,Wujiehuaquan,wumeihuapuan, etc. They make up a unique,extesive and profound boxing system. The Temple has the important historical and cultural connotation of Southern Shaolin and is the valuable heritage of China’s Wushu. |
Quanzhou Shaolin Temple lies at the foot or eastern Qingyuan Mountain Threr are lots of Buddhist Mastrs here. Its fame spreads throughout home and abroad.however, in the past over 1,000 years,the Southern Shaolin of great antiquity has suffrerd the vocossitudes of history. From the Tang to the Qing Dynasty, it experienced three tises and three falls.For the third time it was destroyed by fire which was demanded by Emperr Qianlong.4th emperor of the Qing Dynasty, in 28th year of the reign of Qianlong(1763). “From then on no one dare renovate it .” 230years after its disappearance, a Re-build Conference was held in 1992 whth the permission of the provincial groernment. Its reconstruction began on Oct .13,1992 and the first project was completed in 1997. Hall of Sakyamuni (the founder of Buddhism), Wuguan hall and the monks’ dorm building rose from the ground. then it started to enroll new srudents to lear Shaolin Kungfu. |
In 1989,he took Buddhist monk-yuanguo as his teacher. In 1997,Buddhist Mastre Changding ,having studied in xiamen Buddhist College, was invited to take charge of the temple. Practicing Wutstanding Wushu from his childhood, he won the first price at Fujian Wushu performance in 1995,and was awarded a certificate on 1500rh anniversary of the founding of the Songshan shaolin Temple, because of his outsranding wushu performance. In 1998,as the chairman of league of kungfu Masters of the Temple, he led his league to visit European countries for two months, invited by Association of Fujian Townsmen in Pares in February, 2000.There they exchanged culture of Wushu, instructed Wuzuquan and gtthe golden medal for Paris Youth which was issued by Paris Government. New he is a member of Quanzhou Municipal People’s Political Consultative Conference. |
